Shuffle Song: Weird Al - Bob

August 18 2008 - Posted under Features, Music, Review by Tony Trov

Weird Al. Yup. Not only is he weird but also an effing genius. Check out his song called “Bob” which is made entirely of palindromes.

Read the lyrics as he “speaks” them.

Shuffle Songs: Cameo - Word Up

The song is great but the video is amazing.

Word Up! turned out to be Cameo’s biggest single but not nearly as big as that red jock strap and cup.

Shuffle Song: Tragedy- Staying Alive

The arrogance of the best Bee Gee metal tribute band in the Tri State Area was truly worth the hype. For some reason, this disco/metal fusion really works well.

Here’s the video for ‘Staying Alive’ but make sure you check out “How Deep Is Your Love?“. It’s my personal favorite.

Shuffle Songs: The Ting Tings - That’s Not My Name

This British duo brings my favorite genre of music - catchy angry girl rock. There something super sexy about a woman with a bad attitude.

Check them out on myspace.

Shuffle Songs: Paul McCartney Live in Kiev

It must be amazing to write yourself into a country’s history books.

Paul McCartney played the biggest concert in Ukrainian history last week. Not only that, but he rocked so hard that Stalin teeth rattled.

No Review this time. What am I gonna say about Paul McCartney? He’s a fucking genius? The Beatles were awesome?

Check out this video of classic Wings tune; Mrs. Vanderbilt. Hey Ho!

I hate admitting it - again - but Weezer rules…

The song sounds like every other Weezer hit but this video is a hilarious feast for a viral junkie like myself.

Note the ‘blink and you’ll miss him’ appearance of my personal favorite internet star Charlie the Unicorn.

All your classic rock belong to us. I can’t explain this really and all I know is that I like it. The Japanese win again. Indeed, for they are our ‘benchmark’ of insanity!

Watching this makes me wonder what the rest of the play list is. I see a big taiko drum over on the right. The vocals are my favorite. They bring the song to a new level. It was an ethnic twist on a classic but now it’s a traditional Japanese song.

Birthday Girl - Featuring Sasha Grey

Starring porn star Sasha Grey. Yes, this is the track that they dumped, but a video was made anyways.

Be back with some way cooler, way crazier, shit later.

This gypsy punk band is possibly more rock and roll then anything being produced in America. It’s crazy, fast and makes the ladies scream. Owwwwww!

Described as “a bit like The Clash and The Pogues having a fight… in Eastern Europe.”

Make sure you see them the next time they are in town, but don’t invite them over for dinner. They’ll only throw your plates against the wall and sing about it.
